Flutter Kick/Hands on Tummy
Flutter Kicks with hands resting on the tummy provide tactile feedback to help you keep your lower back pressed down while working the lower abs and hip flexors.
Equipment: None
1 / 9
Step-by-step instructions
- 1
Lie on your back with your legs extended and place your hands flat on your lower abdomen.
- 2
Press your lower back toward the floor and engage your core.
- 3
Lift both legs a few inches off the floor.
- 4
Alternate kicking your legs up and down in a small, controlled flutter motion.
- 5
Continue for the prescribed time or reps.
Notes
The hands on your tummy help you feel if your lower back is lifting — keep it pressed down. If your back arches, raise your legs slightly higher until you build more core strength.
