Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Start by holding a dumbbell in each hand with your arms hanging beside your body.

  2. 2

Stand tall with your feet planted — either together or shoulder-width apart — so that your body is stationary and not rocking back and forth during the exercise.

  3. 3

Keep your head facing forward and your neck in alignment with your spine.

  4. 4

Twist the dumbbells so that your palms are facing behind you.

  5. 5

Push your palms back until you feel your triceps tightening.

  6. 6

Keeping that pressure on your triceps, execute a pulsating movement — baby pulse, pulse, pulse — focusing on working your triceps.

  7. 7

Repeat for 20–30 pulses or until your triceps are fatigued.
