Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat. Lean back slightly so your torso is at about a 45-degree angle.

  2. 2

Clasp your hands together in front of your chest or hold a light weight.

  3. 3

Engage your core and rotate your torso to the right, bringing your hands toward the floor beside your right hip.

  4. 4

Return to center, then rotate to the left.

  5. 5

Continue alternating sides for the prescribed reps.

Notes

Keep your back straight throughout — do not round your spine. The movement should come from your waist, not your arms. Keep your hips facing forward.
