Your workout is taking off! Introducing aerial equipment into a training session makes gravity our ally! Stretches are more complete, our hard-working backs enjoy a relaxing decompression, whole-body balances engage our core, and body weighted exercises challenge our muscles in new ways. This work draws from yoga, dance strength training, weight training, and aerial conditioning techniques. Working out is more fun AND more effective when we add suspension. Though we won't be getting too far off the ground in this class, it is great introduction to the aerial arts and the perfect place to start for anyone who's dreamed of flying in the spotlight.
It’s true that starting something new is usually a challenge that takes you a bit out of your comfort zone. This is no different, but it IS more accessible and more fun than you think. There’s no short-cut to upper-body strength or the core stability this practice develops, but you get those things by DOING it. Improved flexibility, greater range-of-motion, a strong core, better balance, an able back, and arms that can take our weight- these are things we need to invest in to continue a long and adventurous life.
