Come to the Barre the at theGYMkc! There’s a reason the Barre class trend has stuck around since it caught fire a decade ago. Its loyal fans know it’s a killer workout that improves posture, leans thighs, sculpts arms, and lifts booties.
So what is it exactly? Barre classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training [holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles] combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. We incorporate light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as resistance bands and mats for targeted core work. Barre's many reps, lifts, and pulses of isometric movements are designed to fatigue muscles. We’ll all reach our shaking point as it’s totally natural for those thighs to quake while we exhaust the muscle and force it to tone without bulk. Something special about this class in particular: we’ll be using a slackline set at barre height for a wider range of creative core-building exercises. We are VERY excited about this! So come to the barre and you’ll leave with improved postural alignment, core strength, and enhanced mobility. You might be stumbling out of theGYMkc Barre ... but it won't be because you consumed too much alcohol. Small group personal training: Tuesdays at 5:30pm-6:30pm at theGYMkc: Uptown location. This SGPT costs $10 per person and will be limited to 6 participants per session. Make sure to contact me at andeehindery@gmail.com to reserve your spot at the Barre. ~ Andee Hindery ~ |
