"Flight Attendant" Speech/Note to All

Project Poolside Virgins: There are exits at both ends of the gym. If the cabin loses pressure, the oxygen masks will release and drop to your level. Make sure to place your oxygen mask on first ... then help those around you who need it.

Just joking ... seriously, though ...

Project Poolside is basically a personal training session for a group of people ... obviously it isn't "personal" ... because it is for a group of people.

You are in charge of yourself. I want you to push yourself ... but not to the point where you puke or pass out ... because I have two rules ...
  1. NO puking ... and
  2. NO passing out
Even though I know CPR, I never want to have to perform it.

During Project Poolside, we will be doing higher repetitions and lower weights. This will help to keep our heart rates elevated ... and help to burn more calories throughout the class.

If I tell you to do 20 repetitions of an exercise and you can only do 10, do what you can do. Don't worry ... no one is counting your reps ... I promise ... we're all dying!

If something we do hurts in the 'bad' way, stop doing it ... IMMEDIATELY! Know that there is a difference between the "bad" pain and the "good" pain. If you need to modify an exercise, please do so. We all have different aches and pains ... and different injuries.

If you need a modification suggestion, please feel free to talk to me after class is over ... and I will help you find a modification that will best suit your needs.
